Pre-Requirements:

  1. Make a proper backup of all your data, in case anything goes wrong then you’ll be able to restore your data back.

  2. The bootloader of your Google Pixel should be unlocked.

  3. Your device should be running the Android 8.1 Feb 2018 factory image.

  4. Make sure that the battery level of your phone is about 70% to avoid unexpected shutdowns.

  5. Enable USB Debugging mode in your Google Pixel devices.

Steps to Install Android Q beta 5 for Google Pixel devices:

These are the detailed instructions on how to install Android Q beta 5 on Google Pixel devices.

1 – First of all, download and install Android SDK on the desktop of your PC from the Android Developers website. Also, set it up with downloading platform-tools and USB drivers package in SDK.

2 – Next, download MagiskManager-v5.5.5.apk directly to your device.

3 – Download the Android Q beta 5 from the official site and transfer it to your phone. (/sdcard/Download/ location)

4 – Now, install MagiskManager that you have already downloaded on your phone.

5 – After installation completes, run MagiskManager and then click on “Install“.

6 – It will prompt to locate the boot image (/sdcard/Download). Select it, MagiskManager will patch this boot image.

7 – Copy the patched boot image to your PC. The patched boot image would name patched_boot.img located in /sdcard/MagiskManager/

8 – Connect Google Pixel to your PC using its USB data cable. Use ADB to reboot to bootloader by giving the following command:

adb reboot bootloader

9 – Finally, flash the patched image to your device by given 2 commands.

fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img

fastboot reboot

Done! You have successfully installed Android Q beta 5 on Google Pixel devices.
