Getting your Android updated to the latest versions of Android is what every Android enthusiast craves. Samsung the market leader in smartphones ensures that their devices get timely updates and they make sure their devices receive the latest variant of Android as soon as it releases. As all their recently released devices came with Nougat out of the box and have promised an Oreo Update. Samsung has never gone back on their word and is expected to release Oreo Update for these recent devices and for the ones, to which it was promised before.
The thing to note is that only after the Oreo updates have been released to the phone manufacturers by Google, they can start to prepare the Oreo release for their devices. As other manufacturers have already released some devices with Oreo, Samsung will have to hurry up their updates. Since the Pixel devices are already running Oreo out of the box Samsung will have to release Oreo for their devices, so as to not lose their customer base, waiting for the latest variant of Android.
Why the delay? Most phone manufacturers run different versions of OS, providing certain additional features and maybe skin them with a different theme. Samsung’s variant is called the TouchWiz, which is a heavily skinned version of Android, along with certain tweaks, varying according to the features of their different devices. So after receiving the Official update, developers have to work on modifying the Operating system to their own version. This is why there is a slight delay from other manufacturers, as they also have to make sure that their build of the software is running smoothly without any hiccups.
Judging by our previous experiences, Samsung has been the fastest to roll out software updates for their devices. This year won’t be any different. It is safe to say that we’ll see Android Oreo running on their devices, by the end of December and early January. These are the list of devices that will be receiving the Official oreo update from Samsung.
